Monson Nicholas, Inc. is a general contractor specializing in structural and cosmetic concrete repairs and waterproofing.  We have been in business since 1980.

We perform the following work items with our own forces:

Our post-tensioning experience dates back to the mid-eighties shortly after our founding in 1980.  Scarcely a year passes without one or more larger post-tensioning repair projects.  These consist of mono-strand slab and beam repairs, buttonheaded wire tendon repairs and externally applied post-tensioning to strengthen existing beams.

One interesting project at Rush University Medical Center, not previously cited, occurred after a fire destroyed about 5,000 SF of garage slabs.  We shored the beams, demolished the slab, installed all new slab post-tensioning and reinforcing steel and recast the concrete.  The beams had to be negatively shored against uplift before the slab was removed.

Some recent clients include UIC, Rush University Medical Center, Northwestern University, US Cellular Field, Chicago White Sox, Aon Building, West Suburban Hospital, St. Francis Hospital, Rush Oak Park Hospital, St. Joseph hospital, United Center and St. Alexis Medical Center.  There are also numerous office buildings and condominiums as well.
